Gylden Regel 1.
Å investere er morsomt, spennende, og farlig hvis du ikke gjør noe arbeid.
Gylden Regel 2.
Du får ikke en fordel fra Wall Street eksperter. Det er noe du allerede har. Du kan slå ekspertene hvis du bruker din fordel ved å investere i selskaper eller sektorer du forstår.
Gylden Regel 3.
Over de tre siste tiårene, har aksjemarkedet blitt fylt med en flokk av profesjonelle investorer. Til forskjell fra populær oppfatning, gjør dette det enklere for amatører. Du kan slå markedet, ved å ignorere flokken.
Gylden Regel 4.
Bak vær aksje er det et selskap. Finn ut hva det gjør.
Gylden Regel 5.
Ofte, er det ingen korrelasjon mellom suksessen til et selskap, og suksessen til en aksje, i løpet av noen få måneder eller til og med noen år. I det lange løp, er det 100 % korrelasjon mellom suksessen til et selskap og suksessen til aksjen. Gylden Regel 6.

Gylden Regel 8.
Å eie aksjer er som å ha barn – ikke bli involvert med mer enn hva du kan håndtere. En hobby investor har sannsynligvis tid til å følge 8 – 12 selskaper, kjøpe, og selge aksjer. Det trenger ikke være mer enn 5 selskaper i porteføljen.
Gylden Regel 9.
Hvis du ikke finner noen selskaper du mener er attraktive, ha pengene i banken til du finner de.
Gylden Regel 10.
Aldri invester i et selskap uten å forstå regnskapet. De største tapene i aksjemarkedet kommer fra selskaper med svak balanse. Alltid se på balanseregnskapet om selskapet har en god finansiell helse, før du går videre.
Gylden Regel 11.
Unngå trendy aksjer i trendy sektorer. Fantastiske selskaper i upopulære, svakt voksende sektorer, er konsistent suksessfulle.
Gylden Regel 12.
Med små selskaper, vil du komme bedre ut av det om du venter med å investere til de tjener penger.

Gylden Regel 13.
Hvis du vurdere å investere i sektorer med trøbbel, kjøp selskaper med fordeler. Også, vent til sektoren viser tegn til forbedring.
Gylden Regel 14.
Hvis du investerer 1000 kroner i aksjer, er alt du kan tape 1000 kroner, men du har mulig til å tjene 10.000 kroner, eller til og med 50.000 kroner over tid, hvis du er tålmodig. Den gjennomsnittlige personen kan konsentrere seg om noen få fantastiske selskaper, mens en fondsforvalter har nødt til å diversifisere seg mer. Ved å eie mange aksjer, mister du fordelen ved konsentrasjon. Det trengs bare noen håndfulle god investeringer, for å gjøre en livslang investor suksessfull.
Gylden Regel 15.
I alle sektorer og i alle regioner av landet, vil den observante amatøren finne fantastiske vekstselskaper lenge før profesjonelle har oppdaget de.
Gylden Regel 16.
Fall i aksjemarkedet er likt som snøstormer i Januar i Colorado, de vil komme. Hvis du er forberedt, kan det ikke skade deg. Fall i aksjemarkedet er en god mulighet til å plukke opp flere aksjer, når investorer flykter i panikk.
Gylden Regel 17.
Alle er smarte nok til å tjene penger i aksjemarkedet. ikke alle har psyken. Hvis du har en tendens til å flykte i panikk ved kriser, burde du unngå aksjer og fond i sin helhet.
Gylden Regel 18.
Det er alltid noe å være nervøs for. Unngå å bruke helgen på dette, og ignorer de siste prediksjoner for framtiden fra media. Selg en aksje fordi det fundamentale tilsier det, ikke fordi himmelen faller.
Gylden Regel 19.
Ingen kan forutse renter, framtidens økonomi, eller aksjemarkedet. Fjern alle slike prediksjoner, og konsentrer deg om hva som faktisk skjer i selskapet som du har investert i.

Gylden Regel 20.
Hvis du undersøker 10 selskaper, vil du finne ett hvor tilstanden er bedre enn forventet. Hvis du undersøker 50, vil du finne 5. Det finnes alltid hyggelige overraskelser i aksjemarkedet – selskaper som er underanalysert.
Gylden Regel 21.
Hvis du lar være å undersøker selskaper, vil du ha samme suksess som en poker spiller, hvor spilleren ikke ser på kortene sine.
Gylden Regel 22.
Tiden er din venn når du eier fantastiske selskaper. Du har råd til å være tålmodig – også om du gikk glipp av Wal-Mart de første 5 årene, det var et fantastisk selskap å eie de neste 5 årene. Tiden er mot deg, hvis du eier opsjoner.
Gylden Regel 23.
Hvis du har psyken til å eie aksjer, men ikke tiden eller motivasjonen til å gjøre leksene, invester i fond. Her, er det en god ide å diversifisere. Du burde eie noen få forskjellige fond, med forvaltere som har forskjellige strategier: vekst, verdi, små selskaper, store selskaper, etc. Investere i 6 like fond er ikke å diversifisere.
Gylden Regel 24.
